Football Hooligans........?

I am referring to the near riots in Belfast on Sat afternoon between Irish and Polish football supporters.

Can anyone tell me why Football ''fans'' behave in this way?

It seems to me that this kind of behaviour is unique only to Football supporters-you dont hear of near riots at Golf tournaments for example!

your right it is a football thing, never have I seen anything close to this at any rugby match I have been too.

all you have to do is to look at the football section on yahoo to see the mentality of those involved.

the drink fueled football casual is still very much alive, but alcohol cannot be blamed, look at how much is drunk by rugby supporters.

I think football attracts the yob culture plain and simple

I can't stand football...nor the violence that follows it.

Players, with lower than average intelligence, paid an absurd amount to kick a ball around a pitch, fall over and act like they're dieing, Oscar wining stuff...Wives and girlfriends, so full of plastic implants, they'd melt in extreme heat, skinny bleach blonde thickos who think it's cool to have a partner that shags around and treats them like shite.....

As for the fans, and NO not all before I get slatted, but there seems to be a chavfest of followers that want nothing more then to fight for the name of their team. Dressed in Burberry caps, cheep trainers, 9ct gold sovereign rings, tracksuits or their teams extortionate shirts, they parade the streets like a pack of demented baboons, red faced, due to all the alcohol, acting like neanderthals and proving to people like me, that they and the sport are shite!!!!

I don't understand it. Giving themselves and the teams a bad rep is hardly support. Go to any rugby match and there is no segregation of fans and a lot of good humoured banter. I don't know about other stadiums but at the Millenium Stadium you are able to purchase alcohol in the stadium during matches and there are no problems with violence.

alcohol and rising tensions between the hundreds of thousands of polish who have gone to Ireland and the locals

throw in a recession and a football match and you have the perfect recipe for an international pub fight

I am afraid this is just down to drink fuelled hooligans , they get all hyped up with a few beers in them that they cant control themselves , it has nothing to do with football just that so called fans with bad behaviour problems

well i cant tell u why some fans act this way. probably coz they do not know any better way to behave. or are just mindless hooligans with no worth of self
